Disclaimer: All the Final Fantasy characters in this series of ficlets and/or short stories belong to those talented people at Square/Enix or whatever they are called now.
This is a series of Valentine's Day fics. Not all of them will contain smut, but they all are from the FF8 fandom, and the main pairing is, of course, Irvine and Squall. This will also be generally silly, have sappy moments and will hopefully be fun for you to read and fun for me to write. Enjoy.
This is YAOI - boys with boys, caring, desiring, kissing, hugging, groping…um, yeah…but that’s why you’re reading this, yes?
Book of Love: Voucher 15
By Garden's Gnome
It was the hair tickling his nose that made Irvine finally move. Before that he’d been enjoying the sleepy touches of his lover, the soft kisses and light stroking of his chest and arms. Unfortunately Squall’s hair moved across his face as the brunette placed kisses across along the cowboy’s jaw, causing Irvine to flinch and fight of a sneeze.
“Good morning,” Squall murmured sleepily as he resumed his kissing and touching of the tanned skin of his lover.
“Mmmm,” Irvine rumbled appreciatively as Squall’s hand stroked across his abdomen.
“We have to get up,” Squall said while running his fingers in circles around the sniper’s navel.
“Nah, not yet,” Irvine said, eyes opening a little so he could grab his lover and pull him atop his body. “Besides, I’m already up,” the sniper said, smirking as he rocked his hips upwards.
Squall let out a groan as his hips were held against Irvine‘s, the only barrier between his naked body and his lover’s morning hard-on the thin sheet they had slept under. He could feel his body hardening in response to Irvine’s and fought the desire to slip back under the sheet and play.
“We have to get up,” he repeated, sitting up in the sniper’s lap, unable to stop from rocking against the hardness under the sheet, his own cock jutting out from his body as they moved languorously upon the bed.
“Why, love? We both have this morning free. You made sure of that,” Irvine said, reaching out to bury his fingers into sleep tousled brown hair.
“For a reason, Irvine,” Squall said as he turned his face to kiss Irvine’s palm.
Irvine watched as Squall kissed his hand, the brunette then moving down along his body. Irvine’s blood quickened in anticipation before chilling as Squall slid out of reach and off the bed.
“I’m sorry,” the brunette said, eyeing the tent that Irvine’s hard cock made under the sheet. “But we only have this morning to move your stuff,” he said, turning to locate his pants amongst the clothing strewn about the room.
Irvine watched his lover’s pale ass as it was encased in leather before sighing and rolling over to sit at the edge of the bed. “It’s not healthy to leave a man like this,” he muttered as he stroked his cock to relieve some of the pressure, looking down at the reddened organ and it’s glistening tip.
“Irvine,” Squall whispered as his leather encased legs and bare feet moved into the sniper’s view.
Irvine looked up into hungry blue eyes and then gasped aloud as Squall gracefully dropped to his knees and took the hard length deep into his mouth.
“Christ, Squall. Warn me next time,” Irvine gasped out as he buried long fingers into the brunette’s hair.
Squall sucked on his lover’s cock, tongue pressing against the veins and teasing the head as he pulled back before plunging forward, enjoying the feel of the slick flesh moving between his lips. He gasped around Irvine’s cock as the sniper’s other hand reached out and tweaked a bare nipple before moving downwards to the front of his pants that he had yet to fasten properly. Squall moaned as calloused fingers drew the zipper back down, his own hard cock falling into Irvine’s hand, hot and heavy and begging to be stroked. He sucked noisily at his lover’s length as Irvine stroked in time with his movements. Long fingers tightening in his hair and a gasp above him were Squall’s only warning before Irvine released deep in his throat, the brunette drinking everything down as he shuddered with his own release. Sitting back on his heels, Squall licked his lips and watched as Irvine licked his own hand clean before standing and offering help up. Squall took the hand and found his partially clothed body pulled against his lover’s naked one, both of then hissing as their highly sensitive organs brushed against each other. Squall allowed a brief kiss before stepping out of Irvine’s hold.
“I need a shower now,” he complained quietly as he stripped off his pants.
“Mmmm, can I join you,” Irvine asked, stroking two fingers along the cleft of Squall’s pale ass.
“It’ll make for a slower shower,” Squall said as he walked into the bathroom.
“We’ll save water,” Irvine countered, following his lover and closing the door behind him.
Half an hour later the bathroom door opened and Squall stepped out, quickly pulling his pants on before Irvine decided they could go another round.
“We didn’t save any water,” he growled at the grinning cowboy. “If anything, we almost emptied your system.”
“Yeah, it was getting a bit chilly towards the end,” Irvine agreed, still smiling.
“I’m going to have to call my secretary and cancel my afternoon appointments now,” Squall said as he pulled on a shirt.
“You really want this done today, don’t you?” Irvine asked, stopping to watch as Squall began opening cupboards and drawers.
Squall stopped what he was doing and walked over to the sniper who was still wearing only a towel. “Yes, I want you to live with me. Don’t…don’t you want us to live together?” Squall asked, suddenly unsure.
Irvine reached out and slid his fingers under the gunblader’s chin, tilting the face up so he could see the blue eyes that were hiding behind brown hair.
“I did say yes, love,” Irvine said quietly, leaning in to brush his lips over Squall’s, smiling as the brunette smiled shyly back before turning away and moving back to the wardrobe.
“Honestly though, there won’t be much to pack,” Irvine said as he grabbed some jeans out of a drawer and slid them on.
“Why not? I know you got your stuff sent over from Galbadia Garden.”
“I never unpacked it, Squall,” Irvine said, reaching over the brunette’s head to grab a vest out of the wardrobe.
“Why not?” Squall asked.
“I was never sure if I was going to stay,” Irvine said as Squall stopped what he was doing to watch his lover. “You had just broken up with Rinoa…”
“We were never really going out,” Squall interjected.
“And Seifer had been found and you were bent on getting him back into Garden. I thought…”
“What did you think, Irvine?” Squall asked, moving to stand right before his lover.
“I thought…” Irvine sighed, “I thought you had a thing for Seifer.”
Squall looked at his for a moment, eyes wide in surprise. Then he started to chuckle.
“Jealousy is not that funny, Squall,” Irvine huffed, pouting.
“Sorry, its just funny cause I know Seifer liked Zell. I respect Seifer; he’s a good friend and comrade. But that’s as far as it ever went.”
“I realise that now. I’m just trying to explain why I never unpacked. I didn’t think there would be a reason for me to stay,” Irvine said, wrapping his arms around Squall and holding him close.
“Will you unpack everything when we get you moved into my room?” Squall asked, burying his face into Irvine’s neck as he too wrapped his arms around his lover.
“Sure I will. There really isn’t much though,” Irvine said, pulling away to start dragging still sealed boxes from under his bed.
“I’ll just have to buy you lots of stuff then,” Squall said, turning to the wardrobe to pull clothes from it and laying them on the bed.
For a few moments the worked in silence until Irvine found the voucher from the previous day that had fallen under the bed. Irvine stopped what he was doing and looked at the page, remembering the previous day. He’d returned from his classes to find the voucher on the bed. After reading the words Irvine had sat on the bed that had been his from the moment he’d first stayed at Balamb Garden, thinking about where he had come from and where he was going and wondering what he‘d done to deserve Squall in his life. An hour later a tentative knock had drawn him from his musings and he’d opened the door to find a slightly worried looking Squall on the other side. It was then that Irvine remembered that his commander had expected him to come see him right after reading the latest love voucher. His less than enthusiastic reaction had caused his lover to come looking for him. Squall had opened his mouth to say something, only to be silenced as Irvine had pulled him into the room and kissed his soundly, followed by slow lovemaking upon the bed that wouldn’t be Irvine’s anymore.
Smiling at the memory of Squall laid out under him in all his pale glory, Irvine slid the voucher into a pocket and continued to pull stuff from under his bed.
“Did you want to know about today’s voucher?” Squall asked, having seen his lover reading the previous voucher.
“Whatever you want if fine with me, babe,” Irvine said with a lazy smile.
“Well, here,” Squall said, handing over a voucher that he had in his pocket.
Irvine unfolded the paper and looked at the writing. Love Voucher: Take Out To The Movies.
“We could still do this,” Irvine said, looking up at the brunette.
“I know we could but I’d rather keep you to myself tonight,” Squall purred as he leaned down and brushed his lips over Irvine’s.
“How about we just watch a movie at home tonight and invite the gang over?” Irvine suggested. “What?” he asked as Squall looked at him strangely.
“I like the way you say that.”
“Say what?” Irvine asked, thoroughly confused.
“Home is where you are, babe,” Irvine said, pulling Squall back down for a more heated kiss than the last, dragging his lover’s body down to the floor.
“We’re getting distracted,” Squall said as he pushed Irvine’s tongue from his mouth.
“What do you suggest?” Irvine asked, trailing his tongue over Squall neck and grinning as the brunette shivered.
“Well…Quistis will be busy running errands for Cid, but I know Selphie and Zell are free. They can help us,” Squall said as he stood up and moved to use the phone.
“But…” Irvin said, trying to grab at Squall’s leather pants and pull him back to the floor.
“You’ll get moved into my rooms quicker if we get help, Irvine,” Squall said.
“Okay,” Irvine agreed with a pout.
It would be hours before they were left alone again. Selphie and Zell had agreed to help clear out Irvine’s old room, both of them remarking over any weird trinkets they found and packed. Selphie as cooed over Irvine’s collection on miniature stuffed chicobo that he’d won over the years at the Deling City annual carnival. She’d finally gone back to packing when he’d given her one. Zell had gotten distracted reading Irvine collection of magazines that were kept in the bathroom. Irvine had simply grabbed the pile, put them all in a box and then labelled the box ‘Zell’s’ before handing it to the blonde with a wink and a smile.
Quistis arrived in time to help carry all the boxes and bags to Squall’s room. All boxes safely stored in the commander’s rooms, Squall had declared that they could finish cleaning the room tomorrow. Dinner was ordered from the cafeteria, all of them too worn out to be bothered cooking. Together they ate, chatting about the orphanage and other things while a movie droned on in the background. Eventually they finished eating and settled down to watch the movie. About half an hour later, Quistis, Selphie and Zell tiptoed from Squall’s apartment, silently closing the door behind them, unwilling to disturb the sleeping couple.
Sometime in the early hours of the morning Irvine reached out and hit the remote to turn off the hissing of the television. Irvine noted that he and Squall were alone and guessed that the others had left when he and the brunette fell asleep. Pulling a blanket down off the back of the sofa, Irvine draped it over his lover who was laying on top of him, and hoped that they hadn’t been sleeping like this when the other’s had left. Then he shrugged and wrapped his arms around Squall, joining his lover in sleep.
To be continued…
